The refusal of multiple Liberal and National MPs to comply with the citizenship disclosure process is an absolute disgrace.

TURNBULL PROTECTING MPs WHO HAVE FAILED TO COMPLETE CITIZENSHIP DISCLOSURE

The refusal of multiple Liberal and National MPs to comply with the citizenship disclosure process is an absolute disgrace.

The citizenship disclosure document requires all members of parliament to “declare that I have completed this statement to the best of my knowledge and have attached all evidence relevant to my declarations.”

Malcolm Turnbull must instruct these MPs to comply. They are obliged to fully comply to avoid misleading the House.

The standard is clear – and at least half a dozen Government MPs so far are not meeting this standard.

Malcolm Turnbull is covering up for them.

  • JASON FALINKSI – Says he “made inquiries” with Polish consulate and has legal advice but does not provide it.
  • JOSH FRYDENBERG – Says he has received Hungarian, Polish and Australian legal advice but does not provide it.
  • NOLA MARINO – Says she has legal advice to show she isn’t Italian but does not provide it. Also no letter from Italian consulate.
  • JULIA BANKS, ALEX HAWKE, MICHAEL MCCORMACK AND ARTHUR SINODINOS – All have an unconvincing letter from Greek embassy and refuse to provide legal advice.

None of these have provided all the necessary evidence to prove they are not dual citizens.

This amounts to a cover up. It’s not good enough to simply give your word – you must give proof.

In the words of the Leader of the House:

SPEERS: You’re saying if your parents are born overseas and you don’t have a document that shows you renounced citizenship, you’re off to the High Court?

PYNE: Well, that would be the assumption because that’s obviously what the process says.

(PYNE – SKY NEWS – 9 NOVEMBER 2017)

Tonight David Feeney has done the right thing and indicated his eligibility will be referred to the High Court in the event that all relevant documentation is not forthcoming.

The Liberal and National MPs who have not been forthcoming with all available evidence must either seek to update their incomplete disclosures as soon as possible, or refer their eligibility to the High Court.
