EDITHVALE ASPENDALE JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB SEIZE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY

Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus has welcomed news that the Edithvale Aspendale Junior Football Club will receive $17,500 to open up the Glen Street Reserve clubrooms with the installation of bi-fold windows.

Mr Dreyfus recommended the project for funding under the second round of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme.

“The installation of these bi-fold windows will be of enormous benefit to the Edithvale Aspendale Junior Football Club and to community members keen to watch a game of football at the Glen Street Reserve in Aspendale,” Mr Dreyfus said.

“The Edithvale Aspendale Junior Football Club have long planned to open up the clubrooms with these bi-fold windows, and I am very pleased that this grant has been of assistance in bringing this plan to fruition,” Mr Dreyfus said.

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants between $5,000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.

Mark Dreyfus worked with a Community Advisory Committee to identify which ideas represented the best investment in our community, and then made a final recommendation on which projects should receive funding.

More information on the funding programme, including guidelines, is available at http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/scp/.
