LABOR FIGHTING FOR JOBS IN GREATER DANDENONG

Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus was joined by Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten at AW Bell in Dandenong South today in Mr Shorten’s first public event of 2017.

Mr Dreyfus and Mr Shorten were at AW Bell to talk about Labor’s commitment to Australian jobs.

“Health, education and local jobs are Labor’s focus for 2017,” Mr Dreyfus said.

“AW Bell is a terrific business that has transformed itself over the past 15 or 20 years from a 100 per cent automotive business to being a firm that is making parts, high-end metal castings for the defence, aerospace and biomedical industries.”

“Unfortunately, while Labor is supporting local industries and local jobs, Malcolm Turnbull is only interested in protecting his own job,” Mr Dreyfus said.

AW Bell is a local manufacturer that has received government assistance to transform out of the automotive parts manufacturing sector into other forms of manufacturing. It employs approximately 65 local residents and has secured large contracts to manufacture parts for the Joint Strike Fighter program.
